PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad & Tobago – The 2017 Caribbean Club Championship finals got underway Sunday night with a pair of sides from Trinidad & Tobago earning wins.

  • Central FC opened its campaign for a third straight Caribbean Club Championship with a 3-1 win over Antigua & Barbuda’s Grenades in the second game of the doubleheader.
  • Trevaughn Harriet netted his sixth goal of the competition to give Grenades a 1-0 lead in the sixth minute.
  • The Sharks responded with three unanswered goals as Jason Marcano (37’) and Carlos Edwards (45’) struck before halftime. Nathaniel Garcia (85’) added an insurance tally late in the second half.

  • San Juan Jabloteh improved to a perfect 4W-0D-0L in this year’s competition with a 2-0 win over Haiti’s Racing FC to kick-off the evening.
  • Nathan Lewis (50’), who scored a team-high four goals in the first round, made it 1-0 early in the second half.
  • Joseph Mitchelson’s own-goal in the 74th minute completed the scoreline.
